Project 52:14 - Homemade

Homemade: Easier than you think, portable, less expensive and fun! As we started to consider solids for Claire I read a couple books on how to cook for her. I will admit, with reading so much on food for her I became inspired to have even healthier options around the house for George and me. I thought we ate pretty well, but we can do even better. As we move out of our house next week and practically move into a 30-60 timeframe of eating "on the road" this will become an even bigger challenge.

I didn't feed Claire solids until 7/8 months....and we still breastfeed at night and in the early morning. The homemade food really allowed for flexibility. Side note - we did do store purchased organic baby food to supplement when I did not have time to make her food at home or on the road. It was a nice balance to what I made at home and didn't break the bank.

Below: from the toddler section of this book - apples and pumpkin soup. Great book, covers from 6mo to toddler.

Project 52:13 - I'll make that call...(a little late)

I'll make that call: I was reminded that I get to see all the firsts.... she picked up the toy telephone and played like she knew how to use it? I have been with her practically every minute since she arrived.... we don't even have phones that look like this (iPhone)... when did she learn this, because I think I missed it. :-)

PS... I wish I could take better pictures, these are a little out of focus... I was trying not to use the flash inside... however, the expressions on her face are priceless!
