Homemade: Easier than you think, portable, less expensive and fun! As we started to consider solids for Claire I read a couple books on how to cook for her. I will admit, with reading so much on food for her I became inspired to have even healthier options around the house for George and me. I thought we ate pretty well, but we can do even better. As we move out of our house next week and practically move into a 30-60 timeframe of eating "on the road" this will become an even bigger challenge.
I didn't feed Claire solids until 7/8 months....and we still breastfeed at night and in the early morning. The homemade food really allowed for flexibility. Side note - we did do store purchased organic baby food to supplement when I did not have time to make her food at home or on the road. It was a nice balance to what I made at home and didn't break the bank.
Below: from the toddler section of this book - apples and pumpkin soup. Great book, covers from 6mo to toddler.
I picked up the Project 52 idea from StyleBerry's blog - check her out, she inspires!
